Harrah’s opened on April 14, 1973 with 200 rooms and 2,200 slot machines. The opening night entertainment included Liberace playing the piano while surrounded by showgirls. There are now close to 3,000 slot machines at the casino which has grown to include four towers including two that are connected by a skywalksk over the strip. The hotel itself has just shy of 1000 rooms, which makes it one of the largest casinos in Las Vegas.
