Boulder City

Boulder City is an unincorporated town located in a part of Las Vegas. It was founded in 1931 as a gambling resort on the banks of the Colorado River. The town has no casinos but does have golf courses, hotels and other amenities that are available for visitors to enjoy during their stay. Boulder City is also home to many people who live there year-round. They love the small-town feel and warm weather that it offers them at this elevation of 2,000 feet above sea level!

Boulder City is a city of year-round sunshine and 320 days of annual rainfall, located in the foothills of the Spring Mountain Range. The city lies on Interstate Highway I-215 at its intersection with U.S. Route 93 (US 93), about an hour’s drive from downtown Las Vegas and five hours from Los Angeles, California.

Boulder City is one of the few remaining old style, western towns in Nevada. It was established in 1931 to provide housing for workers building nearby Hoover Dam. The town still has a lot of its original charm with many small businesses, shops and restaurants. Boulder City also offers excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation including hiking, biking and fishing.

We all know that Las Vegas is a city in Nevada, but did you know it has a sister city named Boulder City? I’ve been to both and they are quite different. From their personalities to the way people live there, these two cities couldn’t be more different!
